Hiding  (in Outlook) a mailbox you have full access to
We have 20 room mailboxes (for scheduling), a number of administrative assistants have full access permissions to them. Because they have full access to these they automatically show up in Outlook, is there anyway to hide these? We only use the Calendar parts of these mailboxes and don't need to see the inbox, sent items, etc. Thanks!

they might have added the mailboxes to their profile, you can simply remove these mailboxes from their profiles To remove additional mailbox that has been added earlier to your Outlook, please do the following: 1. Open Outlook, Click Tools -> Email Accounts. 2. Select View or change existing e-mail accounts and click on Next. 3. Ensure that Microsoft Exchange Server is selected and click on Change. 4. Click on More Settings. 5. Select the Advanced tab and then select the mailbox you want to remove. 6. Click Remove. 7. Click OK, click NEXT, click FINISH. if you are saying that they see calender for these mailboxes, you can simply unchek the calender from your calender view Dhruv

They haven't add them, I did as an Exchange admin. I gave them full access to the mailboxes which makes them automatically appear in Outlook. I understand that I can uncheck the calendar from the calendar view but that isn't where the problem is. Try giving yourself full access to any mailbox, log off/on Outlook and you'll see what I mean; you'll have the mailbox show up on the left pane of Outlook in the 'mail' view. There's got to be a way to hide the mailbox or only show the calendar portion.

Hi, This is by design. It is unable to hide the shared mailbox from outlook 2010. If you just want to share the calender, you can remove the full access permission and only give the folder permisson of the calender to the users. You can achieve this with the Add-MailboxFolderPermission cmdlet. See below for syntax: Add-MailboxFolderPermission -identity "dmstork:\Calendar" –user Administrator -AccessRights Reviewer Gen Lin TechNet Subscriber Support in forum If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
